Martinsville Fun!

Jeff Gordon wins Martinsville and ends up in 6th place in the runnig of the Nextel Series! Jason Lefler finished a respectable 12th place which was the best finish Jason has made in the series. Ive been a Jeff Gordon fan before Jason Lefler so I am happy that Jason finished first this time around. The big difference here in Martinsville is that drivers took more care in their short track driving and prevented a lot of accidents. Most of it was due to the cars being loose from the low pressure in their left tires. Driving on a short track with a mix of cement and asphalt pavements required it. The disadvantage is that on the early laps cars tend to be loose and will tend to develop shaky turns as they drive round the corners. Jeff Gordon finished inspite of a 3 lap deficit. He wound up playing catch up with the leaders and managed to get the 3 laps back in the end. Congratulations to both Jeff and Jason. Best of luck next week!
