Refining my tasks

After two weeks in my new assignment. I have realized that I neet to refine my strategy in order that I keep order in the building.
1. Keep the bkslr in assigned positions for their shift.
2. Make sure you are on their tail about answering phones when they have the portables. Assign ring pickups.
3. Have a backup for customer service and cashier
4. Teach music and kids to look up books for phone customers.
5. Set time limits for shelving, maintain the expectations and set followups and coaching.
6. Dont let the system lead you. YOU lead the system.

The Class refined

Ive been watching this show on CBS called "The Class" for some time now. I've managed to catch up with the show when CBS began posting recent episodes on their INNERTUBE site. A few weeks ago I noticed that Lucy Punch who plays Holly on the show was no longer featured in the introductions. After googling it I found out why. Heres the link. It is sad to hear that Lucy Punch has Ankled the Skein. Her character had possibilites that the writers decided was not ready for prime time.

Holiday Mentor

Its almost Christmas and I am enjoying the time that I have with my new coworkers. My mentor has given me support that has edged me to become a fulfilled MIT. There is still a lot more to learn and its going to take about another month here at my assigned training site to get it together. Today I have experienced a comraderie amongst managers that I have not seen in over three months. We gave my mentor a gift that we all chipped in for and he was grateful for it but also reserved in a way that he didnt show favorites and thanked everyone evenly. I would like to be just like my mentor someday. To develop a management team in a matter of a year that works together well and follows up with each other seemed very easy for him. I want to learn his secrets and be able to implement it with the team that I will be developing when I move on to my new assignment. Right now I feel great to be part of my mentor's team eventhough it will only be a short time from now that we will be parting ways in order for me to then handle a group that needs my support and leadership.

Walked the line

If you have not yet known. I have jumped ship! FDK wasnt doing it for me. Leave it up to the managers up top to hold back my promotion and you get nothing! Well, I have shown my cards and cashed in my winnings. I have moved on to a new line of business. Books are now my domain. Like what I have said in the beginning. I shall keep work postings to the generics. That way I prevent myself from pulling stuff off the blog because of propriety suits. Wish me luck on my new job!

The Joey

Joey was born 30 days ago. He is a bundle of joy! Inspite of all the nights I stayed to feed him and change him. At least now that I am back to work my in-laws have been helping with the Joey watch. I am so blessed with them being there. Joey is lucky to have grandparents who care for him so much. Keep you posted on the poop stories.

HP5170DN Issues

Our HP5170DN is printing grayed sheets without any of the expected printed document on the pages. HP Website was of no help.

We ordered a replacement HP5250DN for our usage. The drum unit is DR520 and the replacement Toner Cartridges are TN550 or TN580. These replacement units are not yet available on EPRO.

I called the helpless desk and they have escalated the call to 2nd level support. Its has been 48 hrs since our initial contact. No respose back from 2nd level.
