its raining!

Egad! Its raining! And we finished the cementing yesterday now the water is hiting the cement! I immediately placed plastic covers over the cemented pieces. Hope it stays and prevent the setting from breaking.

Mortar and Pestle

Dot and I are selling our home and upgrading to a bigger place. My father in law is helping a great deal to fix things here and there. Being that I am off this week, I have devoted some time to help by fixing the steps to our back yard.

One of the things that I am doing is putting back some of the bricks that fell out of the landing's edge. There was one section that needed to be built back up. Rather than building it back I have decided to remove what was left of the bricks and just mortar the surface flat. With a little elbow grease I have managed to remove what was left of the bricks. Whew! It took about half an hour to wear down the brick set. I chisled the mortar till it wore down and the bricks cracked our of the setting. I guess thats the trick in removing unwanted brick... more on this later, still have a lot of work to do.
